Home Remedy for Bed-Wetting
Also known as nocturnal enuresis, bed-wetting may be caused due to a small bladder, stress, urinary tract infection, hormone imbalance and diabetes. This phenomenon is very common among children and can generally be overcome with some training and home remedies.
-
Diet
-
Restrict your child's intake of caffeine-containing foods and beverages such as cola or chocolate, especially in the evening, as these products are diuretics that promote urination. Monitor your child's fluid intake throughout the day. Ideally, a child must consume 40 percent of his daily fluid intake in the morning and 40 percent in the afternoon, with the remaining 20 percent in the evening.
Herbal Remedies
-
Give your child 6 to 8 oz. of cranberry juice to drink an hour before going to bed. Herbal tea made from oak bark, horsetail or wormwood also cures bed-wetting. Eating 1 tsp. of raisins before bedtime also helps to overcome the problem of bed-wetting.

Other Options
-
Encourage your child to urinate regularly throughout the day and especially before going to bed. You can improve your child's bladder-controlling ability by encouraging her to drink a lot of water during the day and then asking her to hold off urination as long as possible.
