Steam Washer Vs. Ironing

A steam washer and an iron have one thing in common, they straighten clothes. Other than that, they are two completely different kinds of product. A steam washer is more versatile, as it washes, sanitizes and straightens your clothes. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Washing and Sanitization

    • An obvious advantage of steam washers over steam irons is that the former washes your clothes, while the latter only straightens them. During the presoak and main cycles of steam washing, steam is combined with water and detergent, respectively, to soak and wash the clothes. Since heated water vapor can penetrate clothes fibers more thoroughly than just water alone, steam washing is a more effective form of cleaning and sanitization than is done by a normal washer.

    Elimination of Wrinkles

    • A steam iron relies on its soleplate, where steam is emitted from the holes to eliminate wrinkles. Generally, the larger the soleplate the more effective will be the job. While eliminating wrinkles isn't the main function of a steam washer, clothes coming out of the washer usually are softer and have less wrinkles, since steam compliments water in the washing process.

    Price

    • The price of both steam washers and irons depends on the brand and features. A steam iron can cost as little as $15 and as much as $200. The price of a steam washer ranges from around $700 to $1500
