How Does GoToMeeting Work?
GoToMeeting is a web conferencing tool that allows users to "meet" with colleagues in a private, online conference room without the time and expense of business travel.
-
Tools Needed For GoToMeeting
-
Attend online conferences from remote locations. Virtual conferencing requires a computer, Explorer 7.0, Mozilla Firefox 3.0 Internet access and either computer-attached microphone headset or a standard telephone handset.
Set Up a Virtual Meeting
-
Start GoToMeeting by selecting the icon at the foot of the website's task bar. Choose "Meet Now" for an immediate meeting or "Schedule a Meeting" to invite colleagues to an upcoming meeting.
-
Prepare Presentation
-
Create documents, charts and spreadsheets to present from your desktop to meeting attendees. Prepare documents for the presentation and create quick access with a desktop icon. GoToMeeting supports MicroSoft programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and spreadsheets.
Hold Online Conference
-
The coordinator's screen and actions are visible on the screens of attendees. At the appointed conference time, GoToMeeting will send attendees a link to access the virtual meeting room. Log in and select Screen Share, located at the top right of the website, that allows the meeting coordinator to choose options of visibility of the desktop screen and allows the coordinator to set permissions for other attendees for keyboard or mouse control. Open documents that will be used and begin the meeting.
Cost
-
GoToMeeting offers a free 30-day trial. Flat-fee pricing for unlimited sessions is $49 per month or $468 per year.
