How to Buy a Mini Lop
Mini Lops are tiny, cute rabbits–especially as babies–often kept as pets, favored for their long, floppy ears that hang straight down. Developed from the German Klein Widder breed, they were downsized by years of selective breeding for size reduction.

Mini Lops come in solid or broken colors. When buying one, look for the approved colors of chinchilla, chestnut agouti, lynx, opal, black, white, blue, orange, chocolate, lilac or tri-color. Non-recognized colors include: silver marten, tort, harlequin and magpie.
Selection

Select a young Mini Lop 2 to 3 months old in good health for a pet. It should have a shiny, healthy coat with no matted or discolored fur. Males may have better temperaments than females, though two males will often fight.

Purchasing

You can purchase baby or adult Mini Lops at American Rabbit Breeders Association shows, from independent breeders or from individuals that have mated pairs. Mini Lops are commonly found in pet stores. County fairs are good place to find them for sale as well.
