How to Buy a Man's Sport Coat
When buying a man's sport coat, sometimes referred to as a blazer, there are a few things to consider. Not only do you want to make sure that the sport coat is in style, but make sure that it is comfortable and easy to wear as well. Does this Spark an idea?

Sizing
-
Sizing is important because the coat needs to fit properly. Chest size determines the size of the coat and can be established by taking an under-arm and an over-arm chest measurement. Your height will determine the length of the sport coat, but standard measurements include short, regular and long.
Breast
-
You must decide if you want a single- or double-breasted coat. Single-breasted coats have one row of buttons and the flaps overlap only far enough to button. These tend to flatter slimmer individuals. Double-breasted sport coats have two rows of buttons and the flaps overlap enough for both rows to fasten. These tend to make broad-shouldered individuals seem larger, but can also attract attention to the mid-section.

Buttons
-
The number of buttons on a sport coat is another important style decision. One-button sport coats are available but less common. Two- or three-button coats are more often available. Buttons often come in metallic colors or a color that matches that of the jacket. Choosing less dazzling buttons is more appropriate for everyday use.
