The Adobe Extension Manager is a program developed by Adobe Systems. It is used to install and manage extensions associated with various Adobe programs.

  1. Function

    • The Adobe Extension Manager is used to deal with extensions for Adobe Bridge, Contribute, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Illustrator, InCopy, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. All extensions installed through the Adobe Extension Manager must be installed using the ZXP or MXP file format.

    Operating Systems

    • You must have one of the following operating systems installed on your computer to use Adobe Extension Manager CS5 (the latest version of Extension Manager, as of 2010): Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or 3), Windows Vista (Home, Business, or Premium Edition and Service Pack 1 or 2), Windows 7, or Mac OS X 10.5 through 10.6.2.

    Requirements

    • You must have at least 1 gigabyte of RAM, a monitor that supports 1024-by-728 resolutions, and a 16-bit or higher video card. You are also required to have Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, Fireworks CS5, Flash Professional CS5, Illustrator CS5, InCopy CS5, InDesign CS5, Photoshop CS5 or Premiere Pro CS5 installed on your computer (see Resources for a full list of requirements for previous Extension Manager versions).

    Availability

    • Adobe Extension Manager (version 2.0 and later) is available in over 20 languages, including Portuguese, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Russian and more. Extension Manager 1.8 and prior is only available in Korean, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Traditional Chinese.
