Introduction to Computer Training

Introduction to computer courses teach beginners how to navigate a computer.

An introduction computer course focuses on teaching students how to operate a computer mouse and the function of a keyboard. Students gain hands-on experience and learn how to navigate computer software programs. Instruction is basic and does not require experience in technology or computers.

Training

In basic level computer courses students learn how to navigate a computer and practice using a mouse and keyboard. Intermediate computer courses focus on teaching program installation, disc use, how to save documents, printing, browsing the Internet, and how to send and receive emails.

Costs and Length of Study

The cost of an introductory computer course varies widely, but the average price per course is about $50 to $100. In addition, depending on the institution, introductory computer courses may be available in the evenings and provide up to three weeks of instruction.

Learning Objectives

The learning objective for introduction to computer training is to make individuals are comfortable with navigating the personal computer. Following training through practice, students should demonstrate practical computer skills and be able to identify software and open and close documents.
