What Is Riskware Keylogger?

A riskware keylogger can be legitimate keylogging software that runs the risk of being modified into malicious software or any piece of software that may contain a concealed keylogger.

Riskware

Programs that have a legitimate purpose but may be or have been used in malicious activity are referred to as riskware. In many cases, riskware is made by making modifications to legitimate software.

Keylogger

A keylogger is a program that makes a record of which keys have been pressed on a computer's keyboard. By using a keylogger, modern criminals such as identity thieves may be able to attain a victim's personal information, such as passwords and bank account numbers.

Protecting Your Information

Many keyloggers and other riskware items can be detected and removed with antivirus software, such as AVG Free. Though some antivirus programs must be purchased, a download of AVG Free is available at no charge on the AVG website.
