Purchasing a ringtone subscription allows you to pay a flat fee for ringtones. The subscriptions are usually monthly; however, there are some sites that offer longer terms such as six months. Apple's iTunes now offers the ability to purchase ringtones thorugh the iTunes store at around 99 cents per ringtone (as of 2010). You can download the iTunes software from Apple's website at no cost. If you own an iPhone, you can easily transfer ringtone purchases by syncing your phone with the software. If you don't own an iPhone, you can transfer your ringtone purchase by using a USB data connection with the software.
