What Is a DataTraveler Flash Drive?
Portable USB drives are a popular and easy way to share data between computers. They are small memory devices that are compatible with all computers with a USB port. Kingston Technology produces a line of USB flash drives called DataTravelers.

Unsecured Drives
-
Kingston Technology produces seven varieties of the DataTraveler that fall in the "unsecured" category. This means that the drive has no built-in method to prevent others from accessing files if they have the drive. These drives range in size from 2 to 256 GB.
Secured Drives
-
Secured drives offer protection against inappropriate file access if the USB drive is lost. Kingston offers three secured drives. These are broken down into two categories. Personal security drives are recommended for standard consumers and offer basic security protections, such as a password requirement to access files. The enterprise-level drive offers 256-AES encryption. Available sizes are from 2 to 32 GB. These drives carry a higher price and offer a higher level of security to users.

Where to Purchase
-
You can purchase Kingston drives directly from the manufacturer's website. You can also purchase them through many online retailers that sell computer or office supplies. Most computer and office-supply stores with physical locations will carry these drives as well, but they often have higher prices than the online retailers.
