Hot and damp weather can bring on mold in any area of the home. Clean it up as soon as you notice it growing. Always wear gloves, and cover your face with a mask to avoid ingesting or inhaling the mold spores. For a home mold remedy, use tea tree oil, vinegar or Borax to clean up mold.   1. Tea Tree Oil

    • Combine 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray the mold with the mixture and let it set for 20-30 minutes. Use a scrub brush to remove the mold. Absorb any excess water from the moldy area. Keeping the area well ventilated and dry will keep the mold from growing back.

    Vinegar

    • Pour white vinegar into a clean spray bottle and spritz the mold. Allow the vinegar to set into the mold for 20 minutes. Then use a scrub brush to clear away the mold.

    Borax

    • Combine 1 teaspoon to 1/4 cup borax with 2 cups hot tap water. Use a sponge or a rag to apply the mixture to the moldy area. Allow the borax to set into the mold for several hours until the water is evaporated. The Borax will kill the mold and leave a powder residue. Use a clean, damp sponge to remove the powder residue.
