Spyware Terminator 2.0 is a free anti-spyware program that offers additional security features. It detects and removes spyware and protects against malicious websites.

Function

As well as removing malicious spyware and advertising software, the program monitors Web pages for suspicious files while you are surfing. It has a Web Security Guard that warns against phishing sites and those infected with spyware and other malicious software.

Features

During the installation process, the user is given the option to install ClamAV anti-virus. It also monitors the computer system for changes that might indicate it has been infected by malware. It gives users the option to block or allow potentially dangerous programs or files.

Expert Insight

The PC Mag website reports that the product "did poorly in testing, at both malware removal and malware blocking." PC Mag added that, "Spyware Terminator looks tough and talks tough, but when it comes to protecting your system against malicious software and phishing, it's a wimp." One option, the website said, was to use its scanner alongside a more powerful anti-spyware program.
