IBM Thinkpad R51 Information
The IBM ThinkPad R51 is a laptop PC, released in 2004 when IBM was manufacturing the ThinkPad brand. Coincidentally, it made its debut a year before Lenovo acquired IBM's PC division, thus taking over ThinkPad manufacturing.

Featuring a 14.1-inch TFT active matrix screen, the ThinkPad R51 came with an Intel Mobile Pentium or Celeron processor, a maximum system memory capacity of 2 gigabytes (GB), a maximum hard drive storage of 80 GB and an optical drive for burning and/or playing CDs and DVDs. It also had an integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video/graphics controller, a 56K modem and wireless networking.

IBM designed and marketed the ThinkPad R51 as a computer ideal for small business or office use. It based the laptop on the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system.

Reviewers did not find the ThinkPad R51 especially utilitarian in design, with little or no frills. However, they generally agreed that it was a good choice for moderate portable computing, citing attributes such as its comparative lightness, long battery life and user-friendly keyboard.
