What Are the Problems With Computer Protection & Computer Security?
Computer security software is essential for keeping your computer safe from hackers and viruses. However, viruses and spyware can still slip past security software and users should always be wary of downloading unknown programs or files.

Protection
-
New security threats are emerging every day. Antivirus and antispyware programs have databases of known threats. A new and still unidentified threat may compromise a user's computer. However, some antivirus and antispyware programs can identify as yet unknown malware based on behavioral patterns.
Vigilance
-
Hackers are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Many malicious programs pose as benign ones. For example, a program containing a virus or spyware may purport to be an antivirus program to persuade the user to install it. Many problems arise because users are caught off guard. Always establish if a program is safe before downloading it.

Security Software
-
Firewalls, which prevent unauthorized access to computers, and antivirus and antispyware software are used to protect a computer's security. These tools deter hackers, block malicious software, and detect and remove viruses, worms and spyware. However, no security program is foolproof. Antivirus and antispyware programs may not detect every threat. For this reason, Microsoft recommends that computer users install a firewall and antivirus and antispyware programs for a more comprehensive security package. They should also download security updates as soon as they become available.
