What Is Verizon Broadband V Cast?
V Cast is one of the first 3G cell phone networks to hit the market. It was created by Verizon Wireless in an attempt to bring data applications of cell phones to the mainstream. Faster data transfer rates meant new possibilities for the medium, like streaming audio and video.

Speed
-
V Cast is a 3G network, which means it is the third generation of cell phone network at Verizon Wireless. The maximum speed possible on V Cast is 2 megabits per second, although this transfer rate is rarely accomplished in day-to-day life, due to traffic on both the cell network and the Internet itself.
Games
-
V Cast was one of the first networks to offer 3D gaming on cell phones. The high-speed capabilities made this possible.

Multimedia
-
Part of the V Cast service included streaming video and audio. Mobisodes, the word for mobile television episodes, became popular from V Cast. These are television productions designed specifically for viewing on mobile devices.
