Hair Brushing Technique to Prevent Hair Loss
Many people worry about hair loss, and use expensive treatments to prevent it. Improved brushing techniques do not cost much and can keep hair from breaking, pulling out, or falling out. Does this Spark an idea?

Circular Brushes
-
The round brushes that hair dressers often use in salons can prevent hair loss. The brushes glide through the hair smoothly without yanking. Regular brushes sometimes have thick bristles that can pull out hair. Brushes with bristles that are spaced far apart create less risk for hair loss.
Holding the Hair
-
Gently holding the hair against the head while brushing can prevent breakage and hair loss. Holding the hair reduces the amount of hair the brush will pull out. Brushing small segments of the hair at one time while holding the hair near the scalp helps to keep the hair strong and in place.

Wet Hair vs. Dry Hair
-
Brushing dry hair reduces the risk of hair loss. Wet hair has more elastic. Brushing wet hair can stretch the fibers, and cause them to break. Drying the hair with a towel or blow dryer before brushing will keep more hair from falling out when it is brushed or combed.
Excessive Brushing
-
Brushing the hair only when necessary will reduce the amount of hair that pulls out or falls out. Certain hair care myths encourage excessive hair brushing or claim that 100 strokes per day is good for the hair. Brushing hair too much will weaken it and make it more susceptible to falling out. Minimal hair brushing prevents hair loss.
