The ISO sets international standards required to facilitate global commerce.

Operating principles represent the "character" of an organization. Each organization or company must operate to some principle and principles to create synergy among employees, partners and/or members. The ISO principle refers to the operating principles guiding the efforts of the International Organization for Standards (ISO)

  1. What is ISO

    • The International Organization for Standards (ISO) is a large international organization responsible for establishing and setting the international standards required to facilitate global commerce. According to the ISO, "ISO has developed over 18,000 International Standards on a variety of subjects and some 1,100 new ISO standards are published every year"

    ISO Principle

    • The guiding principle behind the ISO is defined by the statement: "standards make an enormous and positive contribution to most aspects of our lives." This is the core principle behind the large-scale and global activities of the ISO toward initiating and managing over 18,000 international standards.

    Applications

    • Products and parts of products are produced globally. Standards ensure products and parts fit together as designed, regardless of when and where there were produced. This is why all or most manufacturing and fabrication contracts include the applicable ISO specifications.
