How to Help Children in Zimbabwe

How to Help Children in Zimbabwe thumbnail
Some estimates state that upwards of 150,000 kids have become refugees due to recent government policies in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is now facing enormous difficulties. Flooding, a collapsed harvest season and other forms of insecurity have left children at tremendous risk. Many programs offer avenues for concerned persons to become involved.

  1. Save the Children

    • Save the Children has been involved in several expansive projects in Zimbabwe. They largely target education and health issues as their primary points of focus. You can become engaged with their efforts by either contacting the UK branch or any number of other national affiliates. Links to respective pages may be found in the resources.

    SOS Children's Villages

    • SOS has been active in Zimbabwe for almost thirty years. They have strived to help with regard to clothing, orphan care and adoption, as well as participating in the vital struggle against HIV and AIDS. You can team up with SOS by sponsoring a specific Zimbabwean child who resides in one of the many communities touched by the organization's outreach.

    UNICEF in Zimbabwe

    • One of the most pertinent crises affecting Zimbabwe and its children is the vast number of refugees. UNICEF is attempting to raise up to 1.5 million dollars in order to help these displaced families. If you are interested in contributing financially to the benefit of Zimbabwean kids, helping UNICEF reach their ultimate goal seems a great place to begin.
