How to Buy New Golf Clubs
Buying new golf clubs is an exciting prospect, especially if they are your first set of clubs. When you purchase a new set of clubs it is important to choose a set which you feel comfortable with.
-
Decide on Type
-
Golf club shafts are either graphite or steel. When deciding how to choose new golf clubs, go to a golf shop to try the feel of some clubs. The weight of the shaft needs to suit your own body. Choose standard length shafts unless you are very tall or short.
Irons and Woods
-
Irons differ from woods, so test both styles of club before you buy. Irons have a flat open face and they graduate according to their number (2 iron through to 9 iron, pitching wedge and sand wedge). The woods have a bulbous head with a flat face (1 wood, 3 wood and 5 wood). Putters are also vital to a good putting game. Choose a putter that feels comfortable. Test the putter and feel how it balances in your hands and when you swing it back.

Price
-
Golf clubs vary in price, so set a budget for what you expect to pay. Overspending on professional clubs if you are a novice won't make you a better player. Inexpensive clubs can be just as effective when learning the game.
