A sponsorship manager finds sponsors and advertisers for an organization. These professionals typically work for nonprofit companies, sports teams, artistic organizations such as local theaters and community service organizations.

  1. Qualifications

    • Most employers require sponsorship manager candidates to have a bachelor's degree. Some employers, such as the New York Philharmonic, also require several years of experience in corporate fundraising. Other essential qualifications for this position include strong sales, communication and time management skills.

    Responsibilities

    • These professionals solicit businesses and other organizations to sponsor their employer. This includes creating and executing marketing and sales plans, as well as creating grant and sponsorship proposals for prospects. Collaborating with other departments, these professionals also design and coordinate advertising materials and events for sponsors.
