What Does It Mean When You Keep Seeing Frogs?

You may see frogs frequently for a number of reasons.

Frogs are amphibians that are found on almost every continent. Some areas of the world have high frog populations, but there may be a specific reason for seeing many frogs in one place.

Water Source

Frogs are found in areas where there is a high-quality, clean water source in which to lay their eggs. When seeing lots of frogs outside, there is most likely a pond in your backyard or a body of water nearby, like a river or lake. Marshes and wetlands also attract frogs. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, a plentiful frog population is a sign of a healthy wetland.

Adequate Food Source

When there are a large number of any animal, it usually means there is an adequate food source nearby. Frogs eat insects and other arthropods, so they may be present in great numbers wherever frogs are also seen. Porch and garden lights attract many bugs at nighttime, which will also in turn attract their natural predators like frogs.

Symbolism

In certain cultures, frogs have special meanings. For example, in the Christian bible, frogs are a sign of finding reason out of falsities. In Native American folklore, frogs symbolize fertile wetlands and female fertility. Ancient Romans and Egyptians also tie the frog in with fertility, while Chinese culture views frogs as a positive sign for prosperity. In any case, seeing many frogs can be a sign of good luck in many cultures.
