How to Use iTrip Auto

The iTrip Auto plays music and charges an iPod through a car's cigarette lighter.

The iTrip Auto, designed by Griffin Technology, is a FM transmitter and auto charger for the iPod and iPhone. The iTrip plays music and charges an iPod or iPhone at the same time.

Automatic Set-Up

Plug iTrip Auto into the accessory socket or cigarette lighter. Attach the dock connector to the dock connector on the bottom of the iPod or iPhone. The iTrip will power on and begin set-up. Choose a song on the iPod or the iPhone. Music will not play until iTrip Auto and radio frequencies are set. Push the middle SmartScan button. An FM frequency will appear on the iTrip Auto screen. Program the car radio to the same frequency shown on the iTrip Auto screen and the music will begin to play.

Manual Set-Up

Find an empty FM frequency with static. Press the + and -- buttons to program the iTrip Auto to match the frequency on the radio.

Preset Stations

Find desired frequency. Tap the "Menu" button to display the presets screen. Press and hold the button that corresponds with the frequency on the screen. The tuned frequency will appear. The iTrip will accept the preset and return to the home screen.
