Types

Two basic types of fashion designer software are for youth. Fashion game software for computers or gaming systems allows kids to dress animated models and add colors and embellishments to already designed patterns. Examples include Project Fashion Game, Activision Barbie Fashion Show: Eye for Style, Jojo's Fashion Show, Miss Popularity, Imagine: Fashion Designer, and Fashion Studio: Paris Collection.
The more advanced fashion designer software is CAD, or computer assisted design, in which users make patterns and create virtual models and designs. Types of CAD software include Digital Fashion Pro and Optitex. CAD software is for older kids and adults.
Features
-
Most fashion designer software programs include 3D models. The designs in fashion designer software for kids are animated and include 3D models. Fashion game software for younger kids includes features such as wardrobe selection and fashion show creation. More advanced programs such as Digital Fashion Pro and Optitex also include 3D features, as well as the creation of technical sketches, pattern making and runway tools.
