What Does Queued Mean in Limewire?
Limewire is a peer to peer downloading program that allows users to search for download files, such as music, movies or programs, from other users who are connected to the network.
-
Function
-
Songs in Limewire's downloading list will that have a status of "queued" because the user has set a limit at how many downloads will perform at once. After one of the currently downloading songs finishes, the next song in the queue will begin downloaded. This repeats until all downloads have finished.
Identification
-
Users will know that a download is waiting in the queue because that status will say "Queued" instead of "Waiting," "Stalled, "Connecting" etc.
-
Benefits
-
When the user simultaneously downloads many files, it can strain the Internet connection and actually take longer for the downloads to finish than if the user allows only one or two files to completely download before other downloads begin. Furthermore, the user may experience a sluggish connection when loading websites or checking email when Limewire downloads in the background.
Solution
-
If the user wishes to change the download limit, he can change the number of maximum downloads by selecting "Options" from the "Tools" menu. Depending on the user's version, she can change the download limits from the "Downloads" or "Transfers" tab.
