Qualities & Skills of Telework
Working from home eliminates long commutes, which saves on transportation costs and aggravation, and allows for flexible work hours. Telework in fact leads to more productivity than working in an office, but there are certain skills and qualities needed to be productive. If you are self-motivated, you can work anywhere, and also wear whatever you want.

Discipline
-
An essential quality for telecommuting is to stay focused and not get sidetracked by watching TV, socializing and raiding the refrigerator. Set up a plan of things to do and list deadlines. You also need to be careful not to overwork, so stick to a set schedule.
Communication
-
Stay focused when on a conference call and keep background noise under control. Be proactive when it comes to bringing up issues; you will be more likely to receive recognition. The same goes for email, but always respond quickly so clients appreciate your strong work ethic.

Organization
-
Your office layout should be arranged according to the work you do and comfort. Make sure you have enough workspace, light, ventilation and insulation against noise. Always consider ergonomics, like your chair type and the height of the workstation, keyboard and computer screen.
