Safety Training for Manufacturing

Safety is a vital part of the manufacturing process, whether your plant makes cars or paper goods. Safety rules must be enforced in your plant, both for your workers' health and for meeting your production goals.

  1. Praise and Reward

    • Rewarding and praising safe working behavior is one easy way to improve safety standards in your plant, according to the website BusinessKnowledgeSource. These rewards will change what behavior is accepted, turning it into what you'd like to see. Punishing bad safety behaviors doesn't give workers enough incentive to be safe, as it may just make them feel resentful towards you.

    Distractions

    • Distractions are the cause of many safety issues in manufacturing plants. Installing acoustic insulation can help cut down on these distractions, according to BusinessKnowledgeSource. This insulation will absorb some of the noise created by your machinery and keep noise from outside the plant from distracting your workers.

    Managing Safety

    • Hire a manager whose only responsibility is safety. This manager will be dedicated to making sure safety procedures are followed, as their job depends on it. She will set a good safety example for the same reason.
