A doctor starts an education program with four years of undergraduate studies. This education is often referred to as premedical training. Students are required to take standard coursework such as mathematics and English, as well as physics, biology, chemistry, human and social services.
Medical School

After undergraduate studies, four years of medical school is required. Before attending medical school, applicants must send their college transcripts to the schools they apply to, pass the Medical College Admission Test, and obtain letters of recommendation.
