What Is a PVC Air Hose?
PVC air hoses are made for many industrial uses such as water lines, air tools, gauges, compressors, water soluble chemical delivery and pneumatic actuators. A hose made from PVC has several advantages over older rubber hose technology. Does this Spark an idea?
-
Features
-
A PVC air hose is typically made with polyester braiding, which helps it not "kink" when it is used. It is also resistant to cracking, hardening or rotting. A PVC air hose can handle between 200 to 300 PSI, depending on the size of the hose. Comparable sizes for rubber hoses handle between 150 to 250 PSI.
Weather Resistant
-
You can use PVC air hoses in temperatures from -15 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Manufacturers may have different temperature variations. PVC air hoses are flexible in cold weather and are UV light-resistant, making them useful for outdoor jobs.
-
Weight
-
A PVC air hose weighs 25 to 40 percent less than a rubber hose. This makes the hose easy to move around, to coil and to work with any attached tools.
