MS Publisher Information
Desktop publishing software enables computer users to create documentation such as newsletters, flyers, calendars and business cards. Developed as a low-cost alternative to publishing software, Microsoft Publisher provides layout and design capabilities in the Microsoft environment.

Features
-
Publisher is a "What You See Is What You Get" desktop publishing program, meaning what you see on the screen is what prints out on the printer. Publisher contains many templates to help users create documentation. Unlike a word processor, text and graphics are moved around the screen as objects. Users may move these objects on the page by dragging, or you may change the size of an object by dragging its handles to fit the object in a layout.
History
-
The first releases of Publisher were stand-alone products. Beginning in 1996, Microsoft began bundling Publisher with other Microsoft products in suites or editions. As of August 2010, the current version is Publisher 2010. Publisher may still be purchased as a stand-alone product, but it is included in Office Professional and Professional Plus.

The computer must be running Windows XP with Service Pack 3, Windows Vista with SP1, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 R2 with MSXML 6.0, or Windows Server 2008 or later. You will need 1.5 gigabytes available on the hard drive to install the program.
