Landscape management training relates to landscape architecture, space improvement and project management. Through training sessions, landscape managers also learn about land planning, landscape designing and recreational facility management procedures.

Qualifications

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), landscape managers usually have a four-year college degree in landscape architecture. To be valid, the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board of the American Society of Landscape Architects must accredit a landscape architecture program.
Training

According to a BLS survey, a new landscape manager receives on-the-job training. Most employees require several years of experience and training with adept professionals, indicates O*Net OnLine. Novice landscape managers learn how to prepare site plans and specifications in accordance with business requirements, prepare graphic representations of proposed plans and inspect landscape work to ensure conformity to specifications.

According to O*Net OnLine, landscape management training sessions teach participants how to use tools such as global positioning system (GPS) receivers, notebook computers, computer-aided design software, and graphics or photo imaging software.
