The Acer Aspire One runs on the Linus Linux Lite operating system, and is based on Intel processing technology--with the 1.6-gigahertz Intel Atom N270 processor and Mobile Intel 82801 chipset. Installed memory is set at 512 megabytes, although users can maximize it to 1 gigabyte. Also included is 8 gigabytes of flash memory and a 120-gigabyte hard drive. Although no optical drive exists for playing CDs or DVDs, users can connect an external one using one of the computer's USB ports.
