Job Description for a Land Administrator
Land administrators oversee large parcels of land and ensure that land resources are used efficiently and effectively. These professionals require a wide range of skills including knowledge of government laws, land use planning practices and procedures, and geographic information systems.

Function

Land administrators work with land owners and other community stakeholders to make sure that land use complies with current government laws. They manage applications and contracts for land development, research different methods for using land, write and implement land use plans, and review, categorize and file maps, satellite and aerial images.
Skills

Land administrators must interpret satellite images and geographic maps, work well in large teams, analyze and find solutions to complex issues, and communicate effectively with subordinates and superiors. A basic knowledge of computer spreadsheet and word processing software is also helpful.
