Tablet PCs are tablet-style computers that are pen-enabled and manufactured by Microsoft. Tablet PCs run on an operating system of Windows XP, called the Windows XP Tablet PC edition. Tablet PCs typically come with a stylus, or digital pen, for input and other interface purposes, as opposed to a mouse and keyboard.

These screens often rotate around two axes as opposed to the one axis of a conventional laptop, which increases the number of failure points. Most Tablet PCs come with embedded, or built-in, graphic measures as opposed to dedicated graphic cards, resulting in weaker video capabilities.

The battery life of a Tablet PC can range anywhere from 3.5 hours to 9 hours. This will depend on the manufacturer, model, and amount of applications and systems used simultaneously. For example, battery life will be shorter with the wireless airport signal or Bluetooth capabilities activated.
