Enrollment managers oversee everything related to recruiting and retaining students. They must promote the school to the public in an effort to promote applications and admissions to the school.

To qualify for the position of enrollment manager, applicants should have a doctorate with a background in marketing and management. These professionals must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Responsibilities

The enrollment manager creates a strategy to encourage enrollment in the school. He oversees freshmen and transfer admissions, financial aid and scholarships. Enrollment managers develop diversity recruitment programs as well.
These managers set goals for class number and track retention rates from freshmen classes through graduation. They write reports regarding grades, gender, ethnicity and economic status of enrolled students.
Enrollment managers establish orientation programs and appoint advisors for newly enrolled students.

An enrollment manager supervises the financial aid department, admissions, disability resources and the registrar. She usually answers to the school provost.
