A memory stick is a Sony-brand, computer-accessible flash memory card designed for digital media storage for portable electronic devices like cameras and camcorders. The Pro Duo Stick is a later version of the original memory stick, which had comparatively slower transfer speeds and a size limitation of 128 MB, or megabytes. Due to it smaller form size, Memory Stick Pro Duos work with such handheld devices as PlayStation Portables, cell phones and pocket-sized digital cameras.

The Memory Stick Pro Duo contains a card reader compatible with many electronic devices that optimize flash memory to save files. The Pro Duo "plug-in" end attaches to the USB port of a computer. Once a connection is established, the files are transferred to the computer via the card reader.
