Workforce planners are responsible for predicting and preparing for changes in production, budget, volume and staffing. Professionals working in this field coordinate with upper management and production teams regularly in order to resolve issues related to staffing.

  1. Duties

    • The responsibilities of workforce planners include monitoring and revising workforce/business forecasts, ensuring that various departments are properly staffed, and meeting productivity potential, as well as liaising with other departments and upper management to share information regarding staffing and volume.

    Skills

    • Workforce planners are required to have skills relevant to the field, such as the ability to work with Microsoft Office suite software, as well as a strong knowledge of recruitment and hiring strategies.

    Experience

    • Experiential requirements for workforce planners often vary depending upon the specific needs of individual firms and the size of the workforce. Typically, requirements consist of multiple years of experience in any of the following fields: business forecasting, management and scheduling.
