Flash-memory voice recorders can store 2 GB of voice data, while hybrid storage recorders come with 32 MB of flash storage and are expandable up to the Memory Stick Duo's capacity.

Features

Sony voice recorders offer MP3, AAC and WAV formats, depending on the model. All Sony voice recorders have Voice Operated Recording (VOR) technology, which allows the device to save space by not recording silent moments. Mid-range and higher-end models include personalized folders and voice transcription software integration.

Price

As of August 2010, Sony's line of digital voice recorders range in price from $39.95 for a basic 2 GB flash-memory model to $299.95 for a top-of-the-line model. The higher-end models come with Dragon NaturallySpeaking dictation-to-text software.
