Facts About Legal Hybrid Smoking Products

Facts About Legal Hybrid Smoking Products thumbnail
Hybrid smoking products are made from blends of herbs.

Although hybrid smoking products are legal in most states, many states and counties are considering making it illegal to sell or purchase these hybrid smoking products. D'Iberville, Mississippi passed a law on Aug 3, 2010 that made selling or purchasing any hybrid herbal smoking product illegal. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Herbs

    • Legal hybrid smoking products are made from mixing different natural herbs together. These herbs do not contain illegal ingredients such as the THC found in marijuana. Because these are all natural herbs, they are not illegal in most states, but you must be at least 18 years of age to purchase them. These alternative smoking products do not contain preservatives or additives.

    Drug Testing

    • The herbal blends used to make hybrid smoking products are all natural. Because these herbs are not classified as "illegal" they are not tested for in drug tests, therefore, they will not give a positive result on a drug test.

    JWH-018

    • JWH-018 was named for the man who invented it, John W. Huffman. This is a common ingredient in most legal hybrid smoking products and is what gives the feeling of "euphoria" after smoking these products. This is a chemical that works much like an analgesic or pain killer. The Test Country website states that this chemical is "a cannabinoid agonist for the receptors tagged as CB1 and CB2 and comes from the family of naphthoylindoles. The effect is very similar to the effects of THC in marijuana.

    Types

    • Most legal hybrid smoking products use a blend of herbs together in one package. One of the most often used herbs used in these smoking products is wild lettuce which is thought to soothe and calm anxiety. Wild dagga leaf is used for its euphoric affects and is thought to be very potent. Damiana and blue lotus herbs are used for aphrodisiac affects.

    Warning

    • Smoking products containing JWH-018 can be harmful if smoked in large amounts. Most legal hybrid smoking products do not list how much JWH-018 is contained in the herbs, so moderation should be used. JWH-018 should not be smoked while drinking alcohol, as this can result in severe headaches. These herbal blends can also be harsh on the throat and lungs.
