The choice between the G7 and G5 comes down to the decision between a wired or a cordless mouse. As both mice feature the same specifications, one mouse cannot be deemed better than the other, as it comes down to personal preference. Many gamers dislike cordless mice due to latency and the fear of losing power in the middle of a game. Corded mice can get tangled. Tom's Hardware states that the G7's 2.4 GHZ transmission "guarantees a perfect connection with no dropouts and no latency--ever." However, users afraid of delayed response time may prefer the dependability of a cord.
