Unarmed Security Guard Training
The training of an unarmed security guard is very different than that of an armed guard. An armed guard works with the use of force and intimidation while an unarmed guard utilizes quick actions, clear thinking, and good communication skills.

Job Requirements
-
An applicant must have a presentable appearance, be drug free, pass a criminal background check, be physically fit, and have the ability to communicate quickly, clearly and effectively. Most security companies provide classroom training and give written tests to prospective employees.
Additional Training
-
Additional training includes on-site instruction by a supervisor. A supervisor walks through the property with the new guard and work with him for several hours. The supervisor points out check points, and sometimes electronic equipment is provided to check and record the points. These points are put into a computer and a record of where the guard has been can be printed out for the supervisor, managers and customer.
