What Is a Six Sigma Presentation?

Developed by Motorola in the 1980s, Six Sigma measures productivity and quality control within the framework of a corporation's operating methods. The Six Sigma Presentation--usually presented by Six Sigma certification holders designated as Green Belt (novice), Black Belt (intermediate), Master Black Belt and Champion--formally introduces the process to an organization.

  1. Implementation

    • The presentation, often given by invitation, serves as an introduction to or kick-off for implementation of Six Sigma. Presentations also can chart a company's progress incorporating the philosophy into its daily practices.

    Measuring Quality

    • Most manufacturers realize that good customer service begins with a quality product. Companies implement the Six Sigma process to improve product quality, with a goal to boost customer satisfaction, which increases profitability.

    Critical Elements

    • Accompanied by a slide show using PowerPoint or similar software, the presenter provides an overview of Six Sigma that includes its background and history, as well as relevant objects such as graphs, the product of the company receiving the presentation, and success stories of other companies that have implemented Six Sigma.
