Military Intelligence Officer Training
Military intelligence officers are responsible for managing intelligence collection and briefing operations. Their work enables the defeat of enemy forces and the protection of friendly forces. To attain this position, officers constantly train throughout their careers.

Function

The purpose of intelligence training is to teach officers the basic principles of their profession. That is, that they are responsible for collecting, analyzing and disseminating intelligence on enemy forces. Intelligence training courses also teach officers how to plan missions and manage enlisted intelligence personnel.
Types

After and intelligence officers finish their basic training, they are assigned to a specific intelligence branch. For example, the Army has six specialties. Signal intelligence is related to capturing enemy communications, and human intelligence involves questioning people for information on enemy forces. Navy intelligence officers also learn about intelligence operations as they relate to anti-submarine and surface warfare missions. For each intelligence category, there are advanced training courses.

Training as an intelligence officer is an excellent career choice for people who want to work as intelligence analyst in civilian agencies such as the CIA, National Security Agency or FBI. Intelligence officers coming out of the military have training in credible analysis methods and they already have a security clearance, which expedites the job application process.
