What Does Twitter Map offer?
-
Twitter Map allows a Twitter user's updates to be organized by region, rather than by the author of the tweet, which is the way Twitter generally categorizes them. Users can search by location, whether to find updates being posted in an area close to their own location, or view updates from a unique destination of their choice.
How to Use Twitter Map
-
Press the "Play" button located on the Twitter Map to make a live-feed of tweets appear on the right hand side of the screen. The feed is made up of users who follow Twitter Map on Twitter, and is updated constantly.
To narrow your search, enter a location in the search widget and adjust the relative distance you wish to be displayed. Once search results begin showing, use the map to zoom in to see where exactly a given user tweeted, all the way down to the street they were on when the tweet was posted.

Is a Twitter Account Needed to Access Twitter Map?
-
A Twitter account is not necessary to search and view updates on Twitter Map. To have your information displayed on the site, however, you must creare a Twitter account, and you must follow the American Twitter Map (@map_us) on the network. You can unfollow Twitter Map at any time to stop your updates from appearing on the website.
