A technical team leader oversees the activities of a company's hardware and software management department. The leader may also supervise the work of technical staff involved in the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.

A technical team leader supports and coaches a group of technical engineers, develops training schedules and ensures that subordinates perform duties in accordance with corporate policies and industry standards. The leader also analyzes the performance of machinery or operating equipment, reviews product designs and repairs or troubleshoots manufacturing equipment.
