Wireless Internet in Schools
Wireless Internet is quickly becoming standard in elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools. According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, as of 2005 nearly 100 percent of all public schools in the U.S. offered Internet access. At that time, 45 percent of all schools provided wireless Internet. The percentage of schools offering wireless Internet continues to advance.

Wireless Internet in schools allows students to access online learning courses, research materials and other Internet sites. Schools typically block social networking and game sites to keep students from wasting time playing on their computers.

Some schools provide wireless Internet only in libraries while others have it throughout the school campus. Schools in Arizona have installed wireless Internet on school buses so students can complete schoolwork during the ride to and from school.

Wireless Internet allows students to use numerous laptops in the school without worrying about connecting to a telephone or cable line. Typically, wireless Internet connections are faster than other Internet connections.
