Civil Construction Training

Civil engineers help construct society. Students studying the subject of civil construction eventually become civil engineers. Civil engineers plan, design and oversee the construction of buildings and structures.

Program Type

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reveals that all types of engineers are required to have the minimum of a bachelor's degree.

Coursework

According to College Board, a nonprofit that connects students with educational opportunities, civil engineers can major in civil engineering. Coursework includes dynamics, engineering economics, environmental awareness for engineers, fluid mechanics, geology and geophysics for engineers, statics, strength of materials, structural analysis and design and thermodynamics.

Training

Many programs encourage students to take part in an internship, according to College Board. An internship is a way to gain practical experience within the occupational environment. Consider a summer or semester internship with a construction firm.
