Himalayan cats always have bright blue eyes.

Himalayan cats are calm and devoted pets, identical to the Persian breed but with the coloring of a Siamese. They are an attractive and docile breed, perfect if you are seeking a lap cat.

  1. Identification

    • Both the International Cat Association and the Cat Fanciers Association consider the Himalayan a color variation of the Persian breed.

    Appearance

    • The Himalayan is identical to the Persian in all physical aspects except coloring. The Himalayan has color points and blue eyes like a Siamese cat. According to the International Cat Association, all cats in the Persian group should have large eyes, a snub nose and a stocky body.

    Behavior

    • According to the International Cat Association, Persian cats are usually gentle and people-oriented. They prefer a peaceful life of close companionship and are very devoted to their families.
