What Is FrontPage Software?

FrontPage software is a Web page designing and building program developed by Microsoft Corporation. It is often compared to Adobe Dreamweaver. Included in the Microsoft Office suite from 1997 to 2003, FrontPage was replaced by Microsoft Expression Web and SharePoint Designer in 2006.

Build a Website

FrontPage software features a "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) editor that lets its users design a Web page and then easily copy the Hyper Text Markup Language (html) code, making it easier for users who aren't familiar with html to build websites.

Maintain a Website

FrontPage software lets users update and maintain their website with a few clicks. Most websites can be downloaded, viewed and edited through the software.

Add a Form

FrontPage software supports Active Server Pages (ASP). ASP is a scripting language often used in forms that submit information from the user to the website, such as email and contact pages.
