Dove Hunting in Meridian, Texas
Located in north-central Texas' Bosque County, the city of Meridian resides within the Central Dove-Hunting Zone, one of four statewide legal dove-hunting areas designated by the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Dove-hunting is permitted in Meridian from September 1 through October 24, and from December 25 through January 9, as of the 2010 through 2011 hunting season.
Possession and Bag Limits

Meridian per-day bag limits and per-season possession limits for doves are 15 and 30 each, respectively. If the dove is caught with falconry, or the use of a trained bird, the hunting limits are three and six for respective daily bag and possession limits.

Hunting Licenses and Stamps

Doves may only be caught in Meridian if in possession of a Hunting License. A Texas Migratory Game Bird Stamp Endorsement is required for mourning dove hunters, and both license and stamp are available for purchase online at Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife's website.
Where to Hunt

According to the website Recreation.gov, dove-hunting in the Meridian area is available at Whitney Lake and Aquilla Lake recreational areas, which are both within 30 miles of Meridian. (see 4 and 5)
