Race directors are responsible for scheduling and organizing all aspects of races.

Race directors schedule and organize all aspects of public races. They also oversee the work of volunteers and those involved in race coordination.

  1. Registration

    • Most of a race director's time involves creating and maintaining a proper race registration system. Additional responsibilities related to registration include organizing registration points.

    Recruiting

    • Race directors must recruit individuals to perform data entry duties to organize and back up registration forms and other information related to the event. A race director must also find individuals to work at registration points.

    Race Design

    • Race directors manage most aspects of race creation and organization. A race director must design and distribute race route maps as well as create, prepare and place signs to advertise the event and guide those involved in the race.
